She sits! She Crawls!

Grace has started sitting on her own. I love seeing her reach these little milestones.

She started crawling yesterday. At first she started with army crawling. After an hour she got bored with that and decided to get up on her knees. It is so fun to watch.

Nana Comes!

Nana got to come to visit for a week and a half while I got to go to Girls camp. Grace had so much fun with Nana.

Before camp we got to go shopping, go out to eat, go to Donny & Marie (for my mom, not me!) We got to swim in our pool. Grace loves the water!! She loves to splash and kick her legs! So cute!

Love the wrinkled toes!

Thanks Nana for coming so I could fulfill my calling and go camping!! We loved having you here. Please come back soon!!

6 Months!!

June 8th marked 6 months for Grace. I can't believe we have had her for half a year. Time flies!!

She has grown up so much! Since her 5 month milestone she has:

-Grown two little cute bottom teeth.
-Started to like solids. Her favorites are sweet potatoes and bananas.
-Started sitting up (thanks to her "trainer." Thanks, Carol!)
-She is so squirmy and loves to move.

What we have been up to

We went to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory with the Woods and had a blast. We toured the cactus garden (yes we are in Vegas) and watched the workers make chocolate. We even got to sample some.

Grace decided to rock climb while we were there.

We decided to travel up to Mount Charleston to scope out the sight for girls camp. Primitive. Girls camp in Vegas is very remote. Probably the most remote camping I've ever done. (we had a cafeteria, chef and a pool growing up!!) But it was cute because even though it was a bit chilly, Grace still had fun touching the trees. We thought she looked like a tree hugger.

Grace has also been a little gardener this summer. She has helped me water and grow yellow cherry and heirloom tomatoes.

She even got a hold of one. It matches her outfit.

Some fun things about Grace...

Grace is hilarious when she sleeps. She loves to put her foot up on the bars of the crib and cover herself in blankets. After she falls asleep, I have to go uncover her face because it scares me!

For several weeks, Grace had an Alfalfa hair spike on top of her head. I would smooth it down but it would just spring up again.

Grace sometimes uses her dress to hold her bottle. Genius!

Just in the past several days, Grace has ventured off the carpet. I think she loves the cold feeling of the tile.

One of Grace's favorite toys is a hanger. I stepped out of the room for a second and came back to this. I guess she likes to wear them too.

5 months

Grace is 5 months today. We love her so much! She has grown up faster than we have expected. She has such a cute little personality.

Today she got her first tooth and there is another one coming up right next to it.

There are a few things that she loves:
She loves to be on her tummy. I will set her down and immediately she will be on her stomach.
She is a mover. I can put her in one corner of a room and in a few minutes she will be in the opposite corner.
She is very independent and likes to feed herself.
She loves to put her "grabby" blanket with ribbons over her face.
She loves the TV. We have to limit it. (Just kidding)
She loves to talk and babble.
She loves to laugh at her daddy. He is so silly.
She loves anything green. She just goes right to it.

TEETH!

Grace cut a tooth today. 5 months to the day she was born. She now likes to bite things. Including me.

We couldn't have made it these past few days without this little contraption. She LOVES this teething pacifier.

Easter

Solids

Grace is now eating solids. Kind of. I think she is still on the fence if she likes them or not.

A few random stories about Grace....

Grace likes to feed herself. She especially likes be snuggled up in comfy blankets while doing so. The other day I put her down with her blanket right next to her. I came back seconds later and this is how I found her. She loves to hide I guess. Funny girl.

Grace is getting her teeth. Daddy decided it would be a good idea to ease the pain with a fudgcicle. She loved it!

Sometimes feet are more for holding your bottle than for walking.

I was at the store the other day and the man behind us in line told me what a cute little fellow I had and asked how old HE was. Did he not notice the flowered shorts or the pink blanket and girly toys? That will be the last time I dress her in blue!

The other day I was putting together Grace's jumper toy. She was playing on her mat and decided she was missing out. She slowly rolled over to where I was working and decided to help out. So cute. I think she really likes anything green.

Safety First?

So this is why you use the straps...

I put Grace in her swing to go do some work in the kitchen and I came over to check on her and this is what I found! She fell out of the swing and was pushing it back and forth!

Then she tried to roll over and got stuck.

Grace's Friends

Grace loves to visit her little friends. She loves the attention. Its a good thing because they get to spend a lot of time together. Bailey and Jane's mom is one of my very good friends and we are Young Womens camp directors together plus we always are doing something fun. We are so grateful to have such fun friends. The other day Bailey was invited over to a friends house to play but she was very hesitant because she knew Grace was coming over. (How adorable is that?!) She didn't want to miss out on the fun. Luckily, her mom reassured her that Grace will definitely be over again and probably soon!

Grace looks sad in this photo but she just had to get a little crying out. She was fine 30 seconds later.

A hard day at the park

We had a ward activity at the park. Grace partied so hard she just passed out.

New Camera!

Will surprised me with my dream camera for our anniversary. I've had so much fun taking pics of this little cutie!

Grace likes getting in on the fun too. She likes to grab the camera when I take her picture. I love that face!

My house has been completely neglected because I just can't get enough of her! Notice the background mess.

Grace has her foot in her mouth

Well, it has finally happened Grace's feet have found her mouth. They are her built in permanent toys. It is really kind of cute.

It is so funny how she can basically fold her body in half.

4 Months

I can't believe this little girl is 4 months already!

She has grown a lot. At her doctors appointment she weighed 12 lbs 5 oz and is 24 inches long. She is in the 25th percentile for her weight and 50th for her height. She is our petite little doll.

At four months she can:

Roll across the room
Sleep 7:30 pm to 5 am
Laugh
Bounce in her jumper
Bring her legs up when she is on her stomach as if she is about to crawl
Hold onto all of her toys
Put her feet in her mouth

She loves:
Her hands. She make such loud noises as she is sucking on her hands!
She loves her little "grabby" that Nana made her. She loves to pull at the ribbons and put it over her face.

Some things I love about Grace:
I love how she babbles at the TV or in Relief Society.

I love how she get so excited to see her daddy when he comes home.

I love how she laughs and giggles when I peek out of the shower to see how she is doing.

I love how she is so independent and insists on feeding herself. She pushes my hands away when I try to hold her bottle for her.

I love how she is the best shopper! She just sits in her stroller and loves to shop with me. She can be really patient.

She is such a fun little girl and I am lucky to be her mom.
She constantly has her hand in her mouth and loves to pull her shirt up so everyone can see her belly. Such a lady.

Work Out

Grace likes to work out with me in the mornings. She likes to feel the burn and get a good sweat going. Here are her moves.

First, she has to warm up.

Then she gets her legs going. Criss Cross.

Then she rolls over and does her push-ups.
